As a kid, I think as soon as I starting talking, I was also singing. I never knew how, I just know that it was there - always hearing a song in my mind and so happy that I had a way to let it out. Singing was the best thing in the universe, and writing songs was a close second. I still remember a song I wrote when I was seven years old. It didn’t matter that it was about sleeping over at grandma’s house - it was so important to me. I can’t say I’m glad that over the years the topics became more painful and serious, but I’m grateful that I had music to help get me through. Writing, performing, and recording have always felt like gifts that I received, and I hope that what I’ve shared will resonate for someone else.

"What I Didn't Tell You" (live)
All too often we leave things unsaid. Sometimes we get another chance, and sometimes it's impossible. I stopped playing music the day I lost someone dear to me. It took almost three years and a global pandemic to break the silence. I wish I had known how to break the silence so many years ago. © 2020 Crissie McCree

"I Don't Wanna Corona Without You" (live)
As we work through this time of social isolation, I think it’s a good time for me to come out of musical isolation and get back to writing, sharing, and connecting through the art of song. Let’s help each other by staying connected in the ways that we can. Throw some humor into the mix, and we’ll all feel a little bit lighter. © 2020 Crissie McCree

"JaBacon Me Crazy" (live)
Today's social isolation song, or "quarantune" as I like to call it, is what started these silly songs for me a few days ago. I'm not only a serious songwriter but also a singer of silly songs as I do things around the house (think Jess from "New Girl"). I decided to share them with everyone as a way to connect and share some laughs while we're in uncharted pandemic territory. When I was younger, my aunt had a souvenir keychain from Jamaica that said "Jamaican Me Crazy" and that's what inspired the title while I was cooking breakfast. Take care, everyone! © 2020 Crissie McCree

"Jump Jump Jump" (live)
Captain’s Log Day 4: I give you the “quarantune” that I’m calling “Jump Jump Jump” for your giggles and smiles today. I’m thankful to have everything I need at this time and always, and this is only meant as a bit of humor when it comes to the grocery store. Life's not perfect and neither is my uke playing as I chuckle through this song, so just enjoy it for what it's worth ;) Be well, friends! © 2020 Crissie McCree

"Ode to Batteries" (live)
Captain’s Log Day 5: I’m thinking about how much I depend on batteries and technology to keep me connected during this period of social distancing. I hope you’ll enjoy today’s “quarantune” and that you’re able to stay connected to the ones you love. © 2020 Crissie McCree

"Coffee" (live)
Captain’s Log Day 7: Social distancing has resulted in an increase in coffee consumption. Please enjoy today’s quaran-tune as you sip your coffee...and be careful not to choke from the silliness. © Crissie McCree

"Closer Yet" (live)
Captain’s Log #10: If there’s a silver lining in social distancing, it might be that it’s bringing us closer in other ways. Call your loved ones. Wave to your neighbor. Share a smile. © 2020 Crissie McCree

"Front Porch Ghost" (live)
Captain's Log #11: Every time I put a pot of flowers on my porch, I later find that it has been knocked down. Every time! Some people might think the obvious reason is that an animal ran across the porch and bumped into it, but I know the real reason. That's why today's "quarantune" is called "Front Porch Ghost". © 2020 Crissie McCree

"Pollen" (live)
Quarantune #12: Pollen has taken over. I wonder if it would negotiate. 🤧 © 2020 Crissie McCree

"Quarantune Blues" (live)
Quarantunes #17: "What day is it? I do not know..." Are the days and nights passing by in a blur? They are for me, so I'm singing the "Quarantune Blues". © 2020 Crissie McCree
